Summer Camp 2026
Where the Wild Arts are
A Wild Minds Creative Summer Experience
Where the Wild Arts Are is a small outdoor art camp for curious young artists who love to explore, imagine, and create with their hands. Surrounded by the dunes and trees of Meijendel, children will spend a week discovering how nature itself can become a studio. This summer, we leave the studio walls behind and create under the open sky.
We will sculpt clay forest spirits, create life-size portraits with petals and charcoal, experiment with sun prints and natural textures, and transform our creations into a small open-air exhibition under the trees.
A typical camp day:
Arrival & warm-up activity
Nature exploration
Main creative project
Snack break
Creative building / experimentation
Sharing and reflection
It’s a week of wild creativity, discovery, and artistic freedom in nature!
Creating outside allows children to experience art in a completely different way. Instead of working only with prepared materials, they can respond directly to the world around them - textures, colours, shapes, light and movement.
Nature becomes both studio and inspiration, encouraging creativity that is spontaneous, playful and deeply personal.
Wild Minds workshops focus on curiosity, exploration and creative confidence.
Rather than following strict instructions, children are encouraged to:
-
experiment with materials
-
follow their curiosity
-
develop their own ideas
-
connect with nature through art
Every artwork that emerges is unique, expressive and full of personality.
The goal is not perfect results - but joyful discovery and creative courage!
This camp is perfect for children who:
-
love drawing, building and creating
-
enjoy being outside
-
are curious about nature
-
like imaginative projects
-
enjoy working independently or in small groups
Both beginners and experienced young artists are warmly welcome.

What we´ll create:
Each day introduces a new creative adventure inspired by the natural world.
Clay Forest Spirits
Using clay and natural materials we find around us, children will sculpt mysterious creatures that seem to belong to the forest itself.
Life-Size Nature Portraits
Children trace their bodies on large paper and fill their silhouettes with petals, charcoal drawings, leaves, textures and colours from nature.
Sun Prints & Colour Experiments
We explore how sunlight, plants and pigments can create surprising patterns and prints.
Nature Sketching & Texture Studies
Looking closely at shells, insects, leaves and bark, children learn to observe and translate textures into drawings.
Outdoor Exhibition Day
At the end of the week, we create a small open-air exhibition under the trees for families to visit.
